Small by design.
Verbium is a small, independent technology company based on the Shakotan Peninsula in Hokkaido, Japan. We bring together whatever disciplines a problem requires and build solutions around the problem itself.
Equal participants.
We believe good ideas don't belong to departments, job titles, or positions in a hierarchy. Our approach centers on a small team of equal participants: people with different skills and responsibilities working directly with one another, challenging assumptions freely, and sharing responsibility for the result.
There are no long chains of communication between the person who understands the customer's problem and the person actually solving it. The people doing the work participate in the decisions, and the people making the decisions remain close to the work.
Being small also makes it easier to do something we consider essential: change our minds. We can experiment without defending organizational territory, admit when an approach isn't working, and start again when starting again is the right answer.
Four qualities.
Technologies change. The way we approach problems hasn’t.
We like difficult questions, unusual requirements, and projects that cross conventional boundaries between disciplines.
If you have a problem that doesn’t seem to have an obvious solution, we’d like to hear about it.
